ReadMe for Distiller 3.02 Upgrade

This version of Acrobat Distiller 3.02 Upgrade will run on Apple 
Macintosh, Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows NT, Sun OS, Sun Solaris, 
AIX, and HP-UX operating systems. (See Adobe Acrobat 3.0 Getting 
Started Guide for OS version information).
The Acrobat Distiller 3.02 upgrade is available in English, Spanish, 
German, Italian, Dutch, Swedish, French and Japanese for Apple 
Macintosh and Microsoft Windows 95 and Windows NT. It is available 
in English for Unix platforms.

Installation Instructions

Windows

1. Run the Installer.

Macintosh

1. Find your Acrobat Distiller 3.0 or 3.01 serial number. Write this 
   number down.
   How to find the serial number:
   Start Acrobat Distiller. From the Apple menu choose "About Acrobat 
   Distiller". The serial number will appear on the splash screen 
   that is displayed.
2. Open your "Adobe Acrobat 3.0" or "Adobe Acrobat 3.01" folder and 
   move the "Acrobat Distiller 3.0" or "Acrobat Distiller 3.01" file 
   to your desktop.
3. Download the Acrobat Distiller 3.02.hqx file or .bin file.
4. Unpackage the file you downloaded which contains the files: Acrobat 
   Distiller 3.02 and the ReadMe file.
5. Drag "Acrobat Distiller 3.02" into the Acrobat 3.0 or 3.01 folder.
6. Double-click Acrobat Distiller 3.02 and enter your name, company 
   name, and serial number when prompted.
7. Once Acrobat Distiller 3.02 launches, quit the application.
8. Drag the old copy of Distiller on your desktop to the trash.
9. Empty the trash.
10. Restart your computer.
11. While the computer is starting-up, rebuild your desktop by 
    holding down the Command and Option keys.

Unix

1. Find your Acrobat Distiller 3.01 serial number. Write this number 
   down.
   How to find the serial number:
   Start Acrobat Exchange. From the help menu choose "About Acrobat 
   Exchange". The serial number will appear on the splash screen that 
   is displayed.
2. Run the installer and enter your serial number when prompted.

General Issues

1. Graphics will now appear when the resolution is set to higher than 
   1700dpi. Adobe PR#229316
2. PDF Mark operations larger than 128K now work. Adobe PR#229317
3. Some files containing Type 3 Fonts did not display or print 
   correctly compaired with the original PostScript Language File. 
   This has been fixed. Adobe PR#229298
4. Watched Folders: In the Watched Folders dialog box, if the option 
   "Delete files in 'out' folder older than XX days" is selected, 
   only the *.ps files are deleted. You must manually remove any other 
   file. Adobe PR#230106

Platform Specific Issues

Apple Macintosh

1. Sometimes adding Watched Folders, Distiller would crash. This has 
   been fixed. Adobe PR#229419

Microsoft Windows

1. Changed Watched Folders options will now be saved once Acrobat 
   Distiller 3.02 running on all version of Microsoft Windows is 
   quit. Adobe PR#229201
2. When running Acrobat Distiller 3.02 on Microsoft Windows NT4.0 
   memory is no longer lost while using watched folders. Adobe 
   PR#229315
3. Acrobat Distiller 3.02 running on Microsoft Windows 95 will now 
   allow for longer file names, file names with spaces and upper 
   ascii characters. Adobe PR#229748, 231259
4. Acrobat Distiller 3.02 running on Microsoft Windows 95 will now 
   open files when they are dropped onto the Distiller icon, Distiller 
   short-cut icon, or when using the "file open" option.

Distiller 3.02 Japanese Only

In addition, the following bugs were fixed in the Japanese version of 
Distiller 3.02:

1. Inability to user Apple Script with the Distiller on Macintosh was 
   fixed. Adobe PR#277505
2. A problem in which Distiller Assistant on Windows replaces a 
   Japanese file name with a hex string when using the AdobePS driver 
   4.2.2J was fixed. Adobe PR#295394
3. A problem in which OPI Comments in PostScript files created with 
   Pagemaker 6.5j were not included in the PDf file Distilled on the 
   Macintosh was fixed. Adobe PR#297682
4. A problem in which Distiller Assistant if left running on Windows 
   NT 4.0 Server consumed virutal memory when having multiple watched
